Is there a dress code?

Semi-formal to cocktail attire, but don't stress it. We would enjoy bright colors. Wear something you find comfortable. The ceremony will be held outside at 4pm (though the reception will be indoors), and northern California can get a bit colder than you expect in May (with afternoon highs averaging 65F), so if you're someone who gets cold, we recommend bringing a jacket.

Can my kids come to the wedding?

Yes! Children are welcome and we will have a small separate room set aside for use by parents and kids, as well as outdoor spaces on church property where kids can wander and play. We are also considering hiring childcare for the evening, if there is enough demand for it. We just ask that parents be willing to make use of this sound-isolated space if a child is making noise that would be disruptive to the moment.

Can I bring a +1 not listed on my invitation?

Between us we have a lot of family and friends, and only so much space, and the consequence of that is that we can't guarantee open-ended +1s outside of members of the wedding party. That said, if you have a +1 you'd be sad to not be able to bring, reach out to us and we can see if we can make it work!

Wait, the venue has "of Berkeley" in its name, but is in Kensington?...

Sorry, yes, this is confusing! Kensington is a small unincorporated community just north of Berkeley. If you look up UUCB, or Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, you'll find the venue. Just make sure to not go to Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists
